In Guerno, in Morbihan, find the Parc de Branféré, a space dedicated exclusively to nature which is 150 km from the Nature & Résidence Loisirs Le Kervastard campsite, a campsite in South Finistère! The route certainly seems long, but it is worth the detour. Your children will be delighted to be in direct contact with the animals, to attend fun shows, but above all to learn more about the history of the site.

Branféré Park: the concept

Inspired by a Maharaja in the 1930s, the Parc de Branféré was created between 1948 and 1965 thanks to Paul Jourde and his wife Hélène Castori, two true enthusiasts of travel and nature. Their vocation is very simple: to build a park where exotic animals live in semi-freedom and in complete harmony with Man and nature.

The heirs of the Branféré estate have worked all their lives for the sustainability of the park which was bequeathed after their deaths to the Fondation de France in 1988. From 1990, the ecological mission of the park was reinforced by welcoming endangered animals. . In 2004, the Nicolas Hulot school was born to raise public awareness of ecology and the environment. Several works were subsequently undertaken to enlarge the park and equip it with different spaces for the enjoyment of animals and visitors.

Branféré Park: What to do?

The Branféré Park brings together nearly 1,400 species of animals from the four corners of the world and distributed in several areas.

In the marine area, find seals and Humboldt penguins that you can observe underwater thanks to a 14 m2 window! Rhinoceros, antelopes, nilgauts, pig deer, geese and Numibian damselfish meet you in the Indian valley, an area equipped with footbridges allowing visitors to get as close as possible to the animals without disturbing them or putting themselves in danger . In the African plain, discover the life of giraffes, blue wildebeest, damalisks, oryxs, zebras, ostriches and greater kudu!

Since 2002, the animal park has organized a bird show in front of the castle, a real aerial ballet which brings together nearly 120 different species of birds for a duration of 30 minutes. Macaws, pelicans, kites, ibises, storks, pink flamingos, parakeets, falcons and many others put on a show, in free flight, a few centimeters above the heads of the spectators.

Branféré Park: Parcabout®

Since 2010, the Parc de Branféré has had a Parcabout®, a leisure park which brings a touch of play and fun to children. This is an innovative and ecological concept which consists of 3500 m2 of nets suspended in trees. Young and old can play and jump in complete safety 13 m above the ground.
