Pointe du Raz: the tour

It is not for nothing that the Pointe du Raz attracts thousands, even millions of visitors each year; it represents a unique and unmissable place in Finistère: land of winds, foam and sea spray. All hiking lovers rush to appreciate its landscapes, you just need to choose your route carefully. We offer you a tour of the Pointe du Raz on foot of approximately 11 km for a duration of 3 to 4 hours.

Arriving at Plogoff, continue to the Pointe du Raz car park and park! Your adventure begins here. Leave the car park to the south and take the road towards the Bestrée shelter port which overlooks the Bay of Audierne! A short stopover is then necessary to appreciate this watercourse protected by two dikes connecting the natural rocks.

Turn right and follow the European Trail E9, a coastal path which leads to Pointe du Raz. On the way, discover the Pointe du Raz semaphore which was originally a lighthouse built in 1838, then reconditioned as a semaphore in 1892. Notre-Dame des naufragés is a marble sculpture created in 1904 by Cyprien Godebski.

Arriving at the Pointe du Raz, a photo session is essential to immortalize this view from the end of the world. From a distance, you can see the Ile de Sein. You will also be able to appreciate the majesty of the cliffs jagged by time and the raging of the sea.

Continue on the coastal path, go up the point, turning right to the Baie des Trépassés. Take the time to contemplate the beauty of this unmissable place and even enjoy a swim in the clear turquoise waters of its beach. Leave the coast and head towards Laoual! The Laoual pond is also worth a detour. Head south to Kerherneau, then continue on the Kerlédec road. Turn left into the alley embroidered with low walls and gardens before reaching the Saint-Michel chapel.

Retrace your steps, then set off to explore Lescoff with its washhouse and fountain. Go back towards rue des Langoustiers and continue straight ahead to reach the Pointe du Raz car park, your starting point.

If you want to discover the Pointe du Raz on the sea side, consider renting a sea kayak and going on an adventure of a different kind. On horseback, the program is just as interesting!
