Located in the heart of Ville-Close de Concarneau, the Fishing Museum is a real dive into the heart of the marine world and the history of fishing. This museum is an immersion into the world of fishermen, the challenges they face and the passion that drives them. The museum opened its doors in 1986, paying tribute to the historical importance of fishing for Concarneau, which was for a long time one of the first tuna ports in France, and offers a series of permanent and temporary exhibitions. One of the centerpieces of the museum is undoubtedly the trawler “L’Hévéa”, anchored in the port and accessible to visitors.

It is located in a belle époque villa, typical of summer residences of the time, and reflects the atmosphere and style of the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. It features a variety of exhibits, including vintage photographs, showing Bénodet and other seaside resorts in their heyday, antique bathing suits, parasols, deck chairs and other beach-related paraphernalia, but also period posters and advertisements, which bear witness to the evolution of tourist marketing or even personal objects and souvenirs which were common among Belle Époque vacationers.

La Maison des Marais was born from the desire to promote and protect the wetlands of the Fouesnant region. These marshes, both fragile and essential to local biodiversity, have been underestimated for a long time. The center offers permanent exhibitions which detail the fauna, flora and ecological issues of the marshes, but also a marked outdoor route, allowing visitors to explore the marshes in complete safety and discover its riches in an interactive way.
