In the Bigouden country in Finistère, more precisely in Plomeur, find the Pointe de la Torche, Beg an Dorchenn in Breton, a rocky promontory which closes the Bay of Audierne at its extreme south-west, but above all which presents many advantages during of your vacation in Brittany!

Wild land, at high or low tide, in good or bad weather, Pointe de la Torche offers a breathtaking panorama of the Bay of Audierne and a feeling of reaching the end of the world. The tulip fields are of magnificence and purity to be seen absolutely between March and April.

Dolmen of Pointe de la Torche

From Pointe de la Torche, head north! On the site, at the highest point of the peninsula, you can discover the Pointe de la Torche dolmen, a megalithic dry stone monument with a compartmentalized chamber and corridor which dates back more than 6000 years. Just 1 km from the tip, you can enjoy Torche beach.

Tronoën beach and Notre-Dame chapel

Then continue all the way north on the coastal path to Tronoën Beach! There you can see the Tronoën Blockhaus, a witness to the German presence in the region. But the most astonishing thing is that every year, it is submerged by sand due to coastal erosion.

Then, turn left to the Notre-Dame de Tronoën Chapel! On the way, you can discover the St Maudez Fountain dating from the 15th century which supplied a wash house and a pond. Out of devotion, the Bravigou tradition is still practiced there, that of throwing pieces of porcelain or pieces as offerings at the bottom of the pool. As for the Notre-Dame de Tronoën chapel, it represents a beautiful religious building from the 15th century. Its great particularity is its monumental ordeal from 1450 in memory of the crucifixion, one of the 7 ordeals still present in Brittany.

Lanven and Beuzec

Leaving the chapel, take the road towards Lanven, a small hamlet which will allow you to take a break or have something to eat! Continue all the way south towards Beuzec, another hamlet well known for its chapel, a timeless beauty at the bend in the road, as well as its Christianized stele. Then, take the small southwest path towards Kerloc’h and continue straight on until the main road. Turn left and find Pointe de la Torche. You have just covered 12 km in 2h30.
